The PosiCharge division of AeroVironment needed a web application to support plant managers in proactively managing a fleet of fast-charge industrial electric vehicles.
I designed PosiNET. The application required a dashboard interface where plant managers could absorb the status of a fleet of vehicles at a glance. Plant managers actively manage the fleet to head-off problems that could shut down the plant. The design process involved designing the interface along user goals and verifying the design using heuristic review and cognitive walkthroughs. I worked closely with the product manager to clarify and refine the functional requirements. I delivered 133 wireframes, detailing the user interface design and interaction design. I managed the graphic designer in delivering logo, design comps, and 40 visual assets.
The end result was an easy to learn application that supported the goals of the users. The design process reduced the development effort by avoiding rework and using the wireframes as the software requirements specification.
